The process of creativity start by stillness. My hands are supposed to be curious, active, skillful, in search of new boundaries, but they are numb. My mind flutters from a book, to make myself busy with anything but what I should be doing. I looking at the works of others, which is the worst thing to do when you are at this stage of starting new pieces.
I learnt to contemplate that moment now, without getting worried with what everyone calls procrastinating and what I called for a long time laziness. It took me a long time to understand that my mind was too busy sorting things out to get my hands started with work. I know now that seating comfortably in a sofa with a book on my laps, I’m actively working on my new pieces.
…and I can mention it now that this phase has just passed.
When I start a new collection, I go through a library of images stored within me, I flip through images that will trigger the first impulse, that will make my heart go faster for a few seconds because I’ve found a thread to hold onto. I couldn’t be confronted to the reality of things, walking through Villa Majorelle wouldn’t have made a better Botanic line. It’s with a personal vision of an unknown world that I can create.

All pieces are entirely created by the artisan Sylvette Blaimont, from drawing notes until polishing, each model is made in small production, sometimes as a unique piece. The task of stone setting and casting are given to selected workshops. Each year, two lines are created, but you can order models that have been designed few collections ago, as the minimalist brand shines in timeless designs.
